Frequently Asked Questions

Can I transfer my existing NITC certification?

Yes, transfer of your existing, non-expired, ASSE 6000 Series NITC certification is allowed. Once a transfer request is approved, you are required to complete the recertification program in accordance with the Medical Gas Training Institute requirements. You can also transfer your certifications from other approved Third-Party Certification Agencies.

All transferred certifications are reviewed by Medical Gas Training Institute (MGTI) and new certifications will be issued by MGTI. To learn more about MGTI please visit their About webpage.

Do I need to visit a testing center for the exam?

No, you don't need a third-party testing site. You can complete the exam online with a designated proctor of your choice. You will enter the email address of a supervisor (or a similar contact) who will verify that you are the person taking the test. That person is designated as the proctor.

Do you offer ASSE 6010 Installer or ASME IX Brazing certification training?

Yes! In order to install medical gas systems you must have an ASSE 6010 and ASME IX Brazing certification, and our ASSE 6010 Installer certification course is the easiest way to get both credentials completely remotely — no in-person class required. The program includes a 32-hour self-paced online course, an online open-book final exam, and a hands-on brazing test kit shipped directly to your location, completed under the supervision of a witness of your choosing.

Can I renew my ASSE certification on your website?

Yes, we can renew ANY of your ASSE 6000 certifications issued by MGTI online. Please visit our ASSE 6000 Renewal page 'for' additional information.

The ASSE 6000 Renewal Training Program can also be used to satisfy the (4) hour continuing education/training requirement for many other third-party certification agencies. If you are renewing your certification with another agency, you are responsible for verifying acceptance of this program. MGC will issue a Certificate of Completion for those wishing to renew with another agency immediately after the training is completed.

Can I renew my ASSE 6010 and ASME IX Brazing certification with MGC?

Yes. During the registration process, copies of current certification documents will be required and can be uploaded at the time of registration. However, some additional information may be requested to verify the documents. This request will be made sometime after the application and documentation have been submitted.

All transferred certifications are reviewed by Medical Gas Training Institute (MGTI) and new certifications will be issued by MGTI. To learn more about MGTI please visit their About webpage.

How do I renew my ASSE certification with MGC?

In order to be re-certified, you must complete a (4) hour training course and take the MGTI re-certification exam. Both can be completed online. To start the process, you will need to register for the course, complete the training videos and online exam.

Do you have special accommodations for your exams?

In many cases yes. Please contact MGTI for information about testing accommodations, including language/translation accommodation.
